"Jardin de Craie" is a project that explores the relationship between nature, architecture, and memory. Inspired by the gardens of the Villa Medici in Rome, this work questions the boundaries between the natural and the artificial, between the ephemeral and the permanent.
Through a series of photographs and installations, we invite the viewer to reflect on the transformation of landscapes and the traces left by human activity. The use of chalk, a fragile and ephemeral material, symbolizes the transient nature of our interventions in the environment.
This project was developed during a residency at the Villa Medici and was awarded the Prix Maison Ruinart in 2024.
